The surgeon will make a small cut, about 1cm long, in or below the belly button. Through this cut, carbon dioxide gas is injected into your abdomen followed by the introduction of a laparoscope. Laparoscope is a small, thin, telescope-like instrument with a light source that helps to see inside the abdominal cavity. Additional instruments are inserted with the help of a side port. The fallopian tubes are then blocked using rings, clamps, clips, or an electric current (electrocautery). After the procedure, the laparoscope is taken out, all the carbon dioxide gas is released and the incisions are closed.<\/p><p class=\"text-dark\">Laparoscopic tubal ligation is a day care procedure. It takes about 30 minutes to complete the procedure and you are discharged the same day. There is shorter hospital stay, minimal pain, faster recovery and less chances of infection after laparoscopic surgeries.<\/p><p><strong>Post-op care<\/strong><\/p><p class=\"text-dark\">After your procedure, you will be kept under observation for a few hours. You are started on oral antibiotics and painkillers.
